Finally managed to fly! / Nareszcie udało się polatać!

Monday's BRS Academy!

Over the Solomon Islands.

After a long break, we finally managed to play two battles in Blood Red Skies!

Both were in the atmosphere of fighting in the Pacific, and as is usually the case with me, first planes from a later period of the war fought against each other, and then from an earlier one :)

F6F Hellcat vs J2M Raiden

In the first battle, Łukasz and I played a small training session before the upcoming BRS tournament in Warsaw "Spring Odlot" organized this time by Karol and the Matisoft Gaming Club store!

ZAPRASZAM

We played one of the planned scenarios, Targets of Opportunity from the AirStrike manual. Since we were both playing it for the first time in order to speed things up, we gave up on playing terrain and light Flaks. At the same time, we played without fighter aces, because one of the assumptions of the tournament is their absence.

After discovering the first ground target, I also managed to shoot down the enemy plane, which meant that I was temporarily winning by 2 to 0 points :)

However, Łukasz did not wait passively and shot down my Hellcat, so we had a draw 2 to 2!

Then I managed to find two more targets, but at the expense of another plane.

Before the last activation in the game we were tied at 4 to 4, it all depended on the last plane.

My last move was to attack the ground target, which was a convoy of trucks. Unfortunately, the lack of goals meant that the entire game ended in a draw.

2x A6M2 Zero vs F4F Wildcat

The second battle was a recreational battle, which we played with three people (although Marcin is such an ace that he can easily play for two!).

For this battle, there were ultimately two isolated battles.

My Zeros boldly attacked the Wildcats commanded by Marcin and shot down the leading machine. However, instead of using the speed advantage and running away from the battlefield, or trying to protect my back, I allowed the Wildcats to jump onto the back of one of my machines in a daring maneuver and shoot it down.

The next downing also belonged to Marcin and another Zero fell somewhere in the jungle.

However, the Zeros did not remain in debt and took revenge for their downed colleagues by shooting down another Wildcat. However, this was the last downing, because as a result of the blows received, the Japanese squadron was forced to flee.

 Poniedziałkowa akademia BRS!

Nad wyspami Salomona.

ZAPRASZAM

Zagraliśmy jeden z planowanych scenariuszy, czyli Targets of Opportunity z podręcznika AirStrike.

Monday flights from France to the Pacific / Poniedzialkowe loty z Francji na Pacyfik

 First battle!

Fall Gelb

The second battle in the club, but the first chronologically.

Implementing the assumptions of the Yellow Plan, Luftwaffe fighters carried out a sweep over France, preparing the sky for a future military operation.

However, the Bf109Es encountered French D.520s led by our local ace Marcin ;)

Taking advantage of their great diving skills, most of the German pilots moved to take a better position to attack.

Unfortunately, the newly assigned rookie couldn't cope in the French sky and was shot down.

Despite many shots from Messerschmitts, the French pilots managed to avoid being shot down and eventually forced the Germans to withdraw.

The plan to gain air superiority failed.

Second battle!

Banzai!!

The battle I fought first, but historically the second ;)

From France we move to the hot islands of the Pacific.

Over one of these densely jungled islands, a dogfight took place between the American F4F-4 Wildcat piloted by Łukasz and my Zeros (they need to improve after losing the tournament).

The game started slowly by approaching the enemy from two directions. The brave veteran jumped forward after his ace and landed on Wildcat's back, but the shot was a miss.

Fortunately, a regular Japanese pilot jumped out of the cloud onto the back of another American fighter who had already won the title of ace. Bravely attacking the Wildcat, he shot it down.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the jungle, the American veteran hid in a cloud, leaving his friend at the mercy of two Japanese pilots who did not waste the opportunity and knocked him out of the sky.

After losing two planes, the Americans fled the battlefield.

After the battle, I decide that Great Climb is more useful to me than Deep Pockets and this will probably be my strategy for these planes.

Pierwsza bitwa!

Fall Gelb

Korzystając z dużych zdolności nurkowania większość niemieckich pilotów ruszyła by zająć lepsze miejsce do ataku.

Monday's BRS Academy! / Poniedziałkowa akademia BRS!

 Supply Drop!

Like every Monday, this week we met at the Matisoft Gaming Club in Warsaw for the Blood Red Skies Academy!

In the first game, I finally decided to put my B-24 Liberators on the table, which were flying to drop supplies to the French partisans. Two brave Liberators flew under the cover of four Mosquito Mk II led by a brave Polish ace. Opposing our expedition was a unit of German Focke Wulf 190A planes led by the Luftwaffe ace Pips Priller.

For most of the game, the fighters engaged in maneuvering combat, occasionally firing a few shots at each other, but no one was shot down.

When the bombers had already covered half the table, the German pilots finally began to achieve their first successes and managed to destroy two engines of the brave Liberator, but its gunners were not idle and as a result of their fire the Focke Wulfs received several boomchits.

The second B-24 bravely pushed forward, but a lone German pilot managed to put one of its engines out of service. The entire game ended with the withdrawal of the German unit due to which the gunners on board my bombers had a significant share.

.

A small clash over the East of England!

The second game took place over the overcast skies of eastern England. The second fight took place between two RAF squadrons, composed of Polish squadrons (302 with Hurricane IIA fighters and 316 with Spitfire IX). Let the German veterans stand opposite the Bf109E and Fw190A, again commanded by Pips Priller.

After a while of maneuvers, the first kill was achieved by the pilots of German 190s, shooting down an inexperienced Spitfire pilot.

At the same time, the pilots of the 302nd Squadron fired at the Bf109, only damaging the German planes, but when the last German pilot was activated, the English anti-aircraft artillery came to the aid of the Polish pilots and the brave 109 fell in flames somewhere in the English countryside.

In the meantime, Priller and his wingmen once again fired upon the pilots of 316 Squadron, causing confusion among their ranks and forcing them to withdraw. Only Hurricanes and Focke Wulfs remained on the battlefield

After firing a few shots at each other and making a few effective dodges, both sides withdrew from the battlefield due to the falling darkness, considering the final fight to be a draw.

 Zrzut zaopatrzenia!
